January 3: Mercury into Capricorn

Mercury, the cerebral messenger of the gods, will follow the Sun and Venus into earthy, practical Capricorn today. For the next two weeks, we'll all be in the mood to make tough choices and to start -- and, more importantly, finish -- all those projects we've been deliberately putting off. That means you won't just walk past the pile of paperwork on your desk; you'll wake up and decide that this is the day to tackle it. Make coffee, unplug the phone and stay right where you are until you've accomplished your goal.

January 8: Mercury sextile Uranus

If you feel like you've been the center of attention lately, prepare yourself. You'll be receiving an awful lot of attention today too -- even more, believe it or not -- as startling Uranus joins forces with all those earthy planets that are currently on duty. Not only does Uranus usually toss at least one surprise into the mix, it can also be counted on to liven things up at the exact moment that a little excitement is needed. Oh, and one more thing: If all the attention recently has made you just a tad too polite to get your point across, you'll be more than happy to tell one and all exactly what's on your mind now -- in a most stunning fashion.
