Venus Conjunct Pluto

Venus is now crossing Pluto, the planet of personal transformation. When activated, Pluto can change your life... tearing down the old and replacing it with the new. Since Pluto is currently being stimulated by the Love Goddess, changes are possible in your love life. To avoid getting caught up in a Pluto whirlwind without clear vision, take a look at where you stand in your love life right now.

Single or partnered, we all have intense feelings about self-worth and relationships... which affect how we relate to others and can bring us to a crisis point. This is a good time to face what you are not getting, and what you are truly hungry for. "Now is the time to get serious about what you're missing in order to motivate yourself to make the changes necessary to start getting it."

Take advantage of Pluto's purifying energy to increase your capacities for intimacy. The first step is to identify and amplify your strengths... and then consciously eliminate patterns that could be keeping you from enjoying close relationships. To help in this, we have a special astrology report to help you get started. The Personal Birth Chart and Report was specifically designed to focus on the aspects of your birth chart that define your capacity to relate on a deeper level.

Sun in Scorpio

As the sun moves into Scorpio on October 23, it is the time for the turmoil of transition from the relative peace of Libra to the chaos and disarray of Scorpio. If you thought the news was a bit heavy this week, you haven't seen anything yet.The Lunar Eclipse was powerful and caused a lot of damage for a lot of people, while others have to adjust to the changes that have happened and they are affected by those changes as a wave affects the shore.

Jupiter in close proximity to the Sun will have a global effect and its energies are expansive, as well as expensive and extravagant. The polarity is the self versus the other, whether in partnership and harmony or as enemies out in the open.

For some, it will play out with roller coaster effect and the denial of the problems may be rather strong, but in the end, it is just part of a cyclic phase.

As you sow, so shall you reap, and all that you do comes back to you, therefore, there are no coincidences, as everything happens for a reason.

The reason eclipses are so karmic is that they always occur near the nodes, as they are tied to the nodal cycle, which has an 18 year, 4 month cycle.

The earthquake that has killed nearly 80,000 in Pakistan may help to heal the border wound it has with India as the two nations cooperate in the face of massive devastation.

Hindus and Muslims have been at each other's throats for 1500 years and if a huge disaster can bring a cooperative effort to bring relief aid and help rebuild an area of mutual dispute, then maybe they can repair their political and cultural problems.

It will ultimately come down to learning that to get along in the world and get help from your neighbors, you have to stop hating and condemning them for their ways that are different from yours.

Everyone thinks their way is the right way or the only way and even Jesus said, "All roads lead to Rome," meaning that every path to God is the right one for you, the individual to take.

You just have to go all the way to God. Jesus spent time in that region of the world during the lost years. He studied with the Buddhists and learned what they taught about reincarnation and karma, along with the eightfold path and the Four Noble Truths. Hindus predate everybody but some of their traditions are difficult for Westerners to identify with, as we hardly consider cows to be sacred, except to those who produce them so as to make a fortune.

You might have noticed the weather seems more extreme and if Jupiter in Scorpio has anything to do with it, it will continue that way over the course of the next year.

The rain in the Northeast US was torrential and non-stop for over a week and if Wilma has an influence, that’s if it goes up the Eastern Coast, they could be in for a rougher going than they can handle.

The floods will return in the wake of a strong Scorpio flow, as the Sun and Jupiter enter this water sign, where Mercury is already camped out.

Venus is approaching the ruler of Scorpio, Pluto and it should prove to be a very intense experience.

Plus, Neptune is turning direct, releasing much of the pent up psychic energy that has been building for months.

Scorpio is the sign of science and research, so blood and surgery come under the domain of this watery sign. Stem cells, which have new methods for extraction, are being helped by acceptance on both sides, since no embryos have to die. South Korea is offering their help to the world with their already advanced research and it can only help them repair and cure of ailments, diseases and injuries. They’ve started a stem cell bank and are making about 100 new stem cell lines available for scientists throughout the world to further their studies on the effects of stem cell therapies. Because of our federal government interfering and blocking research in this area, South Korea has surged far ahead of everyone because they were granted funding and unlimited access to stem cell lines. As a result there are all genetic lines available from Seoul National University.

In other medical news, subdivision of pharmaceuticals, a drug that cures breast cancer is called Herceptin. The preliminary results have been stunningly jaw dropping and revolutionary, so perhaps this is a step in the right direction for treating cancer but I wonder about the efficacy of a drug for treatment when lifestyle choices could well be a preventative measure.

The asteroid of health, Hygeia, is in Scorpio near Mercury, so issues with the blood, surgeries, colon and sexual organs will be of concern for those who will be directly affected by this aspect.

In the square to Neptune, this could also translate to water-born illnesses, like cholera or dysentery and intestinal disorders. We are a sick culture with far too much dependence on drugs of one sort or another and we need to get on the wagon of self-improvement, as the Sun/Jupiter wants us to do.

It all comes down to the ever-evolving relationships we develop with each other as we travel along life’s path. With Saturday's Moon in Cancer trine Uranus in Aquarius, we should be mindful and sensitive toward one’s individuality, as that it what is God-given, as much as anything. The Sun/Jupiter is about truth and experiencing a broader perspective than in the past, widening your scope and enjoying the adventure. Mercury opposite Mars makes for directness of speech and assertive and bold ideas that make progress.

We share this changing world and we all have to do what we can to make it a better place before it goes to hell by those who hail from regions nearby.

It is time for the people who seek truth and peace, the Jupiter in Libra blend and move it toward positive transformation, which is the Scorpio influence of that planet.

It will get better soon and you can help make it so. Do yourself and others a favor and become an even better person, more at peace and more in tune with life and nature.

See to your health and well-being by knowing what you need and what poisons you. See things a little deeper than before and try to get it a little more. When you see a wall, visualize a door. Life should be a pleasure, don’t make it a chore.

Recommended Astrology Book

Astrology, A Cosmic Science by Isabel Hickey, New Pathways, 1970, level: Beginning to Intermediate - this is the classic text on the art of Astrology

The strength of this book is the deep, rich context surrounding each topic.

I use it as a reference book - when I'm stumped by a chart, I just page through this book looking for new associations to break the logjam in my mind. But in truth, this is a book to read cover-to-cover, pasting in post-it-notes to mark the bits and pieces of unrelated but illuminating wisdom tossed into various discussions.

For example, in one very illuminating section of this book, Hickey discusses each of the signs as it manifests as the Ascendant - then under each sign as the Ascendant, she discusses each of the signs that would be on the other House Cusps if there are no interceptions, or if you use equal-house methods.

She shows you how the rising sign synthesizes with the signs on each of the cusps - to create some of the characteristics of people with that sign rising, and to color the house involved. This explains WHY a particular ascendant tends to produce people who behave a particular way.

The book is worth its price for that section alone -- if you're willing to just sit for a couple of hours and read all the rising signs, one section after the other. The faster you read it, the more sense it makes. The section is laid out very systematically, and that system reveals vistas of astrological truths in and of itself.
